Plum Pudding Chemistry
Plum Pudding ChemistryPlum pudding is one of those little known but really great desserts. It's that delicious and elegant classic, full of body, with that special touch of chocolate, strawberries and a hint of vanilla. It's also been known to keep your appetite in check. The traditional recipe calls for boiling a pot of water and adding three pounds of strawberries, one pound of raisins and one pound of sugar. You will then have a thick pudding-like consistency that can be eaten cold or eaten hot. This makes it a perfect sweet treat for when you want something a little different from your usual banana cream pie or chocolate cake. If you prefer it hot, you can actually cook the ingredients separately before adding them together for a nice and hot dessert. In a modern time, the science class I had was taught by a science teacher named Ms. Kelsey and she had me try this delicious dish on the first day of school. She said she would make me drink some lemonade mixed with some milk to test my tolerance. To her surprise, I drank more lemonade than milk and after my first test, I was amazed how high the tolerance level was. My teacher loved it so much that when I turned into a chemistry student, she used a similar recipe for all of us to try.The syrup itself has a formula to it, based on the simplest possible chemistry equation. Sugar, water and corn syrup are combined together until it forms a thick and milky syrup. There are many recipes for this syrup and each one has its own unique ingredient list. The recipe calls for using raspberries, cherries and a combination of vanilla and cinnamon. Using these simple ingredients makes the best plum pudding. A good blend of flavors works best for this kind of dish, the raspberry and cherry flavor coming through strongest in my opinion.I tried several recipes for plum pudding before I found the one that my teacher liked best. She used cherries to boost the flavor, as she said that they were one of the best sources of antioxidant s in the fruit. But the combination of sugar and cocoa added to the cooking liquid helps the syrup to stay softer and provides a smoother texture. The chemical formula for this delicious dessert can be found online at the link below. It's pretty straightforward and you can use your own imagination with the mixture to come up with your own version of the most delicious dessert you've ever tasted. Plum pudding is one of those desserts that do not disappoint and that you will crave after you try it. I love it!

Weâd be doing you an injustice. In fact, our love for math is just like piâ"irrational, constant and infinite in nature. Every year on March 14th, math lovers around the world celebrate Pi Day. Pi is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constantâ"the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameterâ"which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Piâs infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize. Pi Day provides the perfect excuse for incorporating math into all aspects of the day and what better way to celebrate than with these âPi-Themedâ Activities! Enjoy Pi-Themed Foods. For your younger children, take them into the kitchen to explore circumference, diameter and fractions by making pizza pie or a dessert pie of any kind. And letâs be honest, this activity is fun for all ages. Your older kids may like making a pie in the shape of Pi or adding the symbol to any circular treat. Play Pi-Themed Games. Pi games are not only fun, but will also improve your childâs understanding of Pi. Conduct a Pi Day scavenger hunt by hiding Pi-themed objects around the house. The objects can even represent the numbers of Pi. For the older kids, have a memorization contest with a prize for the winner. And even the youngest mathematician can participate in the games with the making of a Pi paper chain. Different colored paper strips are paired with numbers (e.g., red with two, blue with four). The strips are then linked in the order of Pi. The chain can be as long or short as you want it. Calculate Pi. Have your child cut out circles of different sizes. They can even trace popular circular household items. Have them measure the diameter and circumference of each circle and see if they can calculate Pi. Irvine English Tutor Annotation A step-by-step guide
Irvine English Tutor Annotation A step-by-step guide Irvine English Tutor Tips: A step-by-step guide to Annotation Annotation is such an important part of a studentâs set of study skills. It seems like it takes up a lot of time, but itâs essential in order to conquer confusing topics and difficult to read novels. Annotation isnât needed for each and every passage a student reads, but it can help them in lots of situations. Many English teachers will teach students how to annotate as part of a practice assignment but, students can use this skill across several subjects. In some cases, students may not be taught specifically how to annotate in which case they can use this step-by-step guide to help them get started, get organized, and be able to recall important information whenever they need it if youre struggling with how to annotate your papers, just ask your private Irvine English tutor from TutorNerds. 1. Get the materials To annotate students effectively will need to have two or three different colored highlighters and a pencil or pen. Neat handwriting is important here so make sure to sharpen that pencil or get a pen with a fine tip. If students are using a photocopy of a textbook, theyâll have to work with the amount of space allotted. On the other hand, if students are printing out something online, itâs helpful if they can copy and paste it into a Word document and make it double spaced. Annotations are a lot easier with larger print and spacing between each line. 2. Annotate as you read To save time and draw connections students can annotate as they read. If they are reading a novel for English class, for example, they can set aside a different color highlighter for each character so that information will be clearer when they return to study later on. They might decide to circle information regarding the plot and underline information regarding the setting. Alternatively, the teacher may have given instructions on what students are meant to do. Either way, students should have a key code they can refer to after the fact. 3. Remain consistent Itâs important for students to be consistent when it comes to the organization of their annotated passages. For instance, if the character âJohnâ was initially highlighted in yellow, he should be highlighted in yellow throughout the whole novel. If information about the setting was underlined in the first chapter, it should still be underlined in Chapter 7. Staying consistent makes it a lot easier for students to draw conclusions, identify cause and effect, and just study in general. 4. Dont over-annotate Some students highlight and underline nearly every sentence in an important passage. When students over-annotate it can become too confusing and be less helpful than if they had not annotated at all. Many students have trouble figuring out what they should and shouldnt annotate. As a general rule, students should focus on key terms that might appear on an exam, the main characters or essential plot elements in a novel, and any vocabulary words they dont yet understand. However, learning how to annotate effectively can get a lot more complicated than this so students are encouraged to consult with their classroom teacher or a one-on-one tutor to help them develop this crucial skill (READ: Five tips for success in English class). 5. Create some basic notes Once students complete the assignment or novel they are currently working on it can be easy to forget what the different annotations meant. In addition to a key code, students should take some basic notes about their strategy and information within that text that they can refer to later on. This will take an extra 10 or 15 minutes at the end of each assignment, but it can save hours on end when it comes time to study for cumulative midterms or finals later in the year. If you hold the cup directly, the atoms will fall into your cup but if you hold it by your thumb and forefinger the atoms will not touch each other. If you did your science work prop erly, you know that chemistry is the study of atoms and molecules. The bonds between the atoms and molecules to create chemical bonds, which in turn creates different compounds. If you take one step at a time, it is quite easy to become proficient in chemistry.
